Established in 2021, JRV Designs seeks to connect people with the feeling of nature through elegant and precision woodworking. 

We are a husband-and-wife team located in Higganum, CT that salvages unwanted logs and makes them into useful lumber and unique furniture and table wares.

Looking at fallen trees decaying on the side of the road, Donald saw an opportunity to create tangible, high-quality products that directly enhance the human experience. Formally trained as a mechanical engineer, Donald left his job at a big defense contractor to pursue woodworking and be present for our two young children. As Donald’s wife, Alyssa manages all the other parts of the business outside of the woodshop.

We revere the complex beauty that emerges when a log is cut, sanded, shaped, and finished, and we make each piece in accordance with the features of the wood. It’s always a surprise to see what God has created during the decomposition process!

Additionally, we have applied modern computer-aided design techniques and manufacturing machinery to blend engineering efficiency with the artisanal craftsmanship of woodworking. We hope that you enjoy our products for cooking, dining, creating, and other gatherings with friends and family!
